About the event

Join enSEmble26 on a warm summer's evening to hear two beautiful, sunshine filled works. The first, Ravel's hugely popular string quartet, is full of the sounds of Spain with sultry flamenco moments and fiery passion.  This will be followed by the amazing Brahms Piano quintet in F minor. This is the crown in Brahms' chamber music, combining two great forces, the string quartet and the piano, each complete in their own right but together forming a grand partnership. At times this work is at times desperate, at times joyful  but overall it is overflowing with love, passion and a deep sense of longing.

Ellie and Tom will be joined by their great friends, Andrew and Julia to form the string quartet for this concert. We are thrilled to be back in St John the Evangelist, the home of so many wonderful enSEmble26 concerts, with Eleanor's beautiful piano playing magnified through the use of her magnificent instrument, her famous Steinway D499.
