Our big Saturday concert will feature one of the most loved chamber works of all time, the Dvořák piano quintet. We will be joined by one of our favourite chamber musicians, Kath Jenkinson on cello and new to enSemble26 but a great friend of all of us, Francis Kefford on viola. The quintet is a mixture of Dvořák's personal form of expressive lyricism with elements from Czech folk music. Characteristically, those elements include styles and forms of song and dance, but not actual folk tunes Dvořák was a master at creating original melodies in the authentic folk style that will have you humming all the way home!
The first half will comprise of music performed by different members and combination of the group. More details to follow…
