Join enSEmble26 for an evening of beautiful classics, Mozart Clarinet Quintet and Brahms 2nd string quartet in A minor.
Ellie and Tom will be joined by friends Dorothea Vogel (from the Allegri quartet) and Orlando Jopling to play Brahm's 2nd string Quartet in A minor. Ellie, Tom, Dot and Orlando formed the Razumovsky quartet during lockdown where they created an online supper, wine and music club with a different string quartet each month paired with the wine and food of the music's origin! Unfortunately tonight there will be no food but there will be wine, friends and the most beautiful music!
Internationally renowned clarinettist, Sacha Rattle, will join the group for Mozart's incredible clarinet quintet.
Widely loved and cherished as one of the most important works in the repertoire, this beautiful piece explored new textures and ideas by blending the clarinet and the string quartet, highlighting the lyricism and musical capabilities of the instrument and elevating its role in classical chamber music. Brahms, inspired by the flexibility and beauty of this piece also wrote a beautiful clarinet quintet.
